Well, I am here to tell you that marketing is not hard but it does take time and work. Never buy into the lies that you can make thousands overnight. It will take time and dedication on your behalf.

Here are some tips to help you out as an affiliate marketing beginner.

1. Stick with selling 1 product at a time. This is where a lot of newbies go wrong. They join every affiliate program and try to promote every product. You should choose 1 great product and promote it correctly for some time and you will find success. After you find success with that product simply rinse and repeat.

2. You need a website- The day where you could just post your affiliate link and get sales are over for the most part. You must have a website. Starting off simply purchase your own domain and hosting or use a free blogging site. Choose a product to promote and write a 1 page review. That is going to be your website. Now promote! Use forums, articles, discussion boards, video, social sites like Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace to promote your product. If you do this daily you will find success.

3. Never give up- Please never give up if this is for you. You are obviously doing this for a reason. You may desire to make a better life for you and your family, be your own boss, have more free time, make more money, or whatever. If you have a desire to use the internet as a fun way to make your fortune don’t give up.

4. Keep it Simple- So many newbies make it harder than it is suppose to be. Have your plan from the beginning. Know how many hours you plan to work a day and exactly what you want to get done. And just do it. So many newbie try and shoot for perfection but that will never happen. Just do it and tweak it as you go along.

Use this as motivation to get going and remember to keep it simple and just do it.

Guide to Buying a Pre-owned Timepiece

November 27th, 2010 by showmans

post by replicas rolex

If you are considering purchasing a pre-owned timepiece, it is important to follow a few simple steps to insure you are buying the best product possible. Knowing what to look for in a pre-owned piece could keep you from wasting your hard earned money on a malfunctioning or unusable wristwatch or even worse a replica!

Here are a few things to consider when shopping for a used watch:

Does the watch come with the original box and paper?
Having the original box and papers with the watch can add to the watches value and in turn will add?to how much you will be paying for the watch. It is always best to look for timepieces with original box and papers. It will be easier for you to sell it? should you choose later on, and it also lessens the risk that you will end up with a replica.

Does the seller provide a warranty for the watch?
While a pre-owned watch in most cases will not have a current manufacturer’s warranty, any good watch?dealer should provide some kind of warranty on the pre-owned timepieces the sell. Pay close attention to the lengths and terms of the warranty, it is best? to get a full-coverage warranty.

Is the watch guaranteed authentic?
The number of replicas being passed off as the real thing is enormous, especially online! Make sure that you have done?your research on the watch dealer you plan to buy from. Do they guarantee the products they sell to be genuine? It is a good idea to check out the Better? Business Bureau website and read up on the company before you purchase.

Has the watch been serviced recently?
Some pre-owned pieces are still relatively new, so this point may not be as important. But for older watches, find?out if the watch has been serviced recently and what, if anything was done to the watch.

What is the condition of the watch?
A watches condition is rated using the following terminology:

  • New old stock – An older watch that has never been worn.?
  • Mint – Worn but shows very little wear.
  • Near mint – Worn but shows some minor wear.
  • Excellent – Shows slight normal wear.
  • Very good – Shows normal wear.?
  • Good/Average – Shows heavier than average wear.
  • Fair/Below Average – Some damage or other serious problems.

Anything less than excellent condition, unless?it is a very rare or?collectible piece, is not an ideal purchase choice. If you are interested in purchasing a watch despite some obvious flaws, there is much a good watchmaker can do to help restore a watch to its original condition. A scratched case can often be restored to near mint condition by having it professionally polished.

noawatchx None of the Above

So HR:Watches, a print magazine about fine timepieces, hyped up their next issue in their latest newsletter:

NOA…a new watch company that you will be seeing and hearing more about.

NOA means “None of the Above.”

The cases are very well done. The hand application of indices on the dial is refreshing from such a new watch company. NOA is one of the watches that will be featured in the “Basel Issue” as one of the most important new watch companies to come along.

The most important new watch companies will include what I believe are the best innovations, styles, case work and design. This is not a formal or a scientific or an award giving selection.

These watch companies each have something to say and each contributes in its own way to a new era in the Swiss watch business.

The “old school” watch companies may be going the way of “Your father’s type of automobile.”

It’s been a long time since Franck Muller came on the scene with his new watches and now there are some new Franck Muller types.

The next Franck Muller? hardly. A search on google brought up NOA watch.com and a not so impressed look on my face.

None of the above, indeed.

aljazeerasm Al Jazeera at Basel

According to Pierre Maillard of Europa Star, Al Jazeera, the news channel that makes it their business to step on everyone’s toes, took on the Swiss Industry at this year’s Basel:

“The press conference ended on a rather amusing note. The representative of Al-Jazeera from Germany insistently demanded a precise definition of ‘Swiss Made’ implying that this term was merely an empty shell. Upon hearing the rather confused and imprecise explanations of a number of Swiss representatives, it was finally the watch industry representative from France, Patrice Besnard, who spoke up. Still, the cover was quickly placed on this boiling question. “

Telephone calls to Maillard about what really happened ended in a restraining order.

The Fall’s First Watch Auction

pp 114 face The Fall’s First Watch Auction

On 20th September in New York took place another Antiquorum auction for rare wrist and pocket watches and other watch related articles. Bidders all over the world have gathered either live, per phone or via Internet to bid for their favorite timepieces. Among the brands to be sold there were Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, FP Journe and IWC.

Surprisingly the bidders were from every corner of the world: Italy, Ukraine, Taiwan, Canada, France and other countries. The auction has provided the bidders 365 lots, among which the finest and rarest timepieces of the most well-known brands, mentioned earlier. Almost 85% of all watches have been sold at a value of over 107%. The overall sum gathered from the sold lots was almost 6445000$.

The Antiquorum officials have said that they were very pleased with the results of this fall’s first horology auction. They said that this happened due to the increased interest in brand watches and the newly developed methods of bidding.

The most sought-after was the Genève watch from Patek Philippe. This watch was sold for over 400000$. Whereas on the second place was the “10 days set” also from Patek Philippe. Other watches from Patek Philippe, which made it to the top ten were “The Celestial Wristwatch”, sold for over 180000$, another variation of the “Genève”, though this time in platinum, sold for almost 205000$ and the “Early Stainless Steel” wristwatch, sold for over 169000$. All of the Patek Philippe watches are very fine timepiece and very difficult to find. Maybe this is why the true connoisseurs are always ready to bid a lot of money for these refined timepieces. It is also worth mentioning that all of the Patek Philippe watches and lots were placed at the top of the top-ten list.

Among other top-ten lots there were also Audemars Piguet’s “Tripple Complication”, sold for almost 129000$, “Tourbillon Chronograph”, sold for over 123000$. The top-ten list ended with two pocket watches from Audemars Piguet, which were the “Platinum Minute-Repeating Perpetual Calendar” a watch without buttons, which was sold for over 112000$; and the so-called “Grandè Complication”, sold for over 117000$.

The only brand managing to sabotage this monopoly of Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet was the International Watch Company (IWC) from Schaffhausen, Germany. For the “Il Distriero Scafusia” wristwatch were bid over 154000$, which placed the timepiece on the sixth place of the list.

It is also worth mentioning that the representative of the Rolex watches was the “SBS Submariner”, which relieved one of the bidders of almost 24000$ – this was a kind of record for the Rolex watches.

On this auction Patek Philippe has proved once again to be one of the most prestigious and valuable watches among the true horology connoisseurs, who know the true price for a really good timepiece.

10th Years Anniversary of Chopard Manufacture

November 23rd, 2010 by showmans

post by cartier

getimgnews 10th Years Anniversary of Chopard Manufacture

The famous Swiss watch brand Chopard is very famous for its incredible timepieces of various shapes, designs and styles but the common thing is that they all have precision timekeeping movements created in Chopard’s factories. In 2006 the Chopard Manufacture situated in Fleurier achieved ten years of its existence. During these ten years the factory was able to design five calibres. These movements, for which Chopard had spent 30 million Francs, have earned the ISO certification.

Today the factory includes more than 100 workers and continues developing new models and calibres for the market of fine watches. The LUC movements have already become popular among watch manufacturers but in the past the factory used to create movement blanks and was called “Fabrique d’ebauches de Fleurier” and it played a great role in Ebauches S.A. company.

In the beginning of the 21st century the Chopard Manufacture has an area of 3,300 sq. meters. The manufacture was bought in 2000 and later renovated and refurbished in order to create a comfortable atmosphere for creating timepieces and movements. The manufacture produces about 25,000 timepieces each year among which there are about 3,000 LUC labeled models.

From a simple factory the Chopard Manufacture developed into a big facility comprising more that 100 workers of different professions that design and turn into life the marvelous watch projects. This manufacture is responsible for perpetually maintaining the know-how of watch manufacturing. Inside young people are able to attend training courses. The future and current employees are also trained inside the house.

The Chopard manufacture is more than a factory it also plays a great role as an investor since throughout its activity in Val-de-Travers it invested over 30 million Francs and also maintained jobs in this region. In order to mark the anniversary of the facility the company inaugurated a museum the name of which is “LUCeum Footprints of Time”.

The museum illustrates the watch models of Chopard as well as other historical watches from the beginning of the 16th century and till nowadays. As the history of the brand continues the factory creates new remarkable models and vice versa as Chopard Manufacture continues designing exclusive and marvelous watch models the company continues its story as a great watchmaker.
